Article types
The Journal of Ethical Educational Leadership or JEEL accepts and publishes from a wide range of traditions and fields multiple types of submissions, including but not limited to cutting edge empirical research, theory, policy analysis, commentaries, case studies, and book reviews.
Submission requirements
Your submission will be confirmed by an email from the journal editor. A manuscript number will be provided to you for future correspondence regarding your submission.
Papers submitted to JEEL should be approximately 7500-10,000 words, including footnotes, references, tables, and figures. Shorter briefs between 5000-7000 are welcome. Book reviews should not exceed 1500 words. Case Studies should include teaching notes.
We accept manuscripts for publication subject to copyediting. By submitting a manuscript, the author commits to publish in JEEL and grants JEEL first publication rights. We will not review a paper already being considered by another journal.
Preparation of Manuscript*
Use- APA Style, 7th edition guidelines
Articles should be submitted in Microsoft Word Format. Include only the title on the manuscript in order to protect anonymity. Referencing and notes about individual authors should be kept separately. Citations in text to these references should be to “Author Identifying Reference” and the publication date.
Use Times New Roman 12 Point Font, double spaced.
A concisely worded titled should be included
An incisive abstract of no more than 250 words is required.
All tables should be typed double spaced on a separate page; all figures/illustrations should be provided in the highest resolution/quality possible. All tables and figures should have clear titles/descriptions and referred to in numerical order in the text.
Keywords: your submission should include up to 5 short and appropriate keywords that capture the central focus of the paper. Even though we will try to use the keywords you suggest, our editorial team may replace some of them with the equivalent terms to ensure consistency across publications and enhance the visibility of your article.
The names of all contributing authors, affiliations and email addresses should be included in the order you would like them to appear clearly indicated. Any funding provided to conduct and or complete the research should be included. In multi-authored papers, list ALL authors that have made a significant contribution to the paper. Those who provided support but did not contributed to the research should be featured in an acknowledgements section. Never include people who have not contributed to the paper or who don’t want to be associated with the research.
Editorial and Peer Review Process
All submissions are reviewed by the editors, and those considered appropriate for JEEL are sent anonymously to two reviewers. Although they are not bound by reviewer judgments, the editors rely heavily on them. Every effort is made to ensure timely decisions about acceptance normally within 60 days of submission.
Publication details
After a manuscript has gone through peer review and been accepted for publication there are no fees or charges whatsoever for publication. After initial review, acceptance or conditional acceptance, the author is expected to respond to reviewer comments as quickly as possible. From date of initial submission we aim for 180 days to publication.
